This logo, a stylized version of the initials “JPO” was created from proposed staff designs to commemorate the office’s 125th anniversary.
According to the JPO, the initials also signify other aspects of the JPO:
““J” symbolizes a person, which expresses the JPO’s attitude to hear the voices of users and to provide a high-quality service to meet their needs. This rounded figure of “jumping person” represents the JPO’s stance to tackle various IP-related challenges toward the next generation, and to make a leap for continuous evolution.”
The blue oval making up the “O” is meant to reflect the “intellect” and “the construction of a global intellectual property system,” expressing an attitude devoted to the quick and appropriate implementation of intellectual property measures.
